Good production from designated hitter Javy Cotto helped the Manchester Mooses topple the Normal Nutcrackers, 6-3. Cotto was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Mooses. Manchester starter Joe Perkins was credited with the win after throwing 117 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Manny Castro nailed down the save.

Manchester right fielder Juan de Gante helped the Mooses go up, 2-1, in the top of the sixth inning. With the game tied, de Gante hit a run-scoring single off Normal pitcher Andres Silguero.

Manchester manager Rodney Beam commended his team for "banging out a nice win."

At 33-29, the Mooses claim second place in the RCL R John Mayberry Division.
