Spirited fans greeted the Rockville Rangers for their clash with the Syracuse Orange Sox.

The Syracuse Orange Sox downed the Rockville Rangers, 10-6. The hitting star was shortstop Aaron Vandermolen. Vandermolen was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Orange Sox. Jeff Raether, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.

In the top of the second, 17-year old third baseman Jason Eager hit a 2-run home run. The 4th home run of the season for the Syracuse third baseman put the Orange Sox on top, 4-2.

"We gave it the old college try," said Rockville manager Sylvester Richardson. "But the old college try wasn't good enough."

Rockville's current losing streak has reached 6 games.
