Orange Sox Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Cougars, 14-13
|
Prince George right fielder Jake Kelley had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Kelley was 4 for 6 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 and driving in 3, even as Syracuse beat the Cougars, 14-13, in 10 innings. Wilson Leyba earned the save for Syracuse, his 4th. The wins continue to add up for Syracuse. The latest makes it 7 in a row.
Jimmy Pacitti delivered a big hit for Syracuse. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Orange Sox ahead, 14-12. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Syracuse manager Teruo Sato.
