Cyclones Squeeze By Thunder Bay, 6-5
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Brooklyn Cyclones eventually prevailed.
The Thunder Bay Lighting got a sterling performance from pitcher Ben Waite, but the Brooklyn Cyclones still prevailed, 6-5. Waite threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The 5th-place Cyclones have a record of 17-19.
Brooklyn went up, 6-5, on Chris Parsons's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Parsons hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Thunder Bay pitcher Joe Pierce shaking his head.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Parsons, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
