Sabercats Lose By a Run at Thunder Bay
|
Thunder Bay right-hander Rivelino Sousal pitched his team to victory over the Sedona Sabercats at Lightning Grove. The final score was 5-4. Sousal yielded no runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-2. Juan Valdez closed out the game, earning his 7th save.
Manny Colon had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Thunder Bay. With runners on 1st and 3rd and the Lighting leading 4-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"Rivelino pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Thunder Bay manager Masamune Fujimoto.
With the win over Sedona, the Lighting improved to 34-32.
