Cyclones Bag 4-1 Win
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones got a stellar effort from pitcher Jeremy Turner, helping Brooklyn score a win over the visiting Thunder Bay Lighting, 4-1. The win went to Hector Alvarez in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Danny Rubio took the loss. The Cyclones improved their record to 27-21 by beating Thunder Bay.
Victor Monreal drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Brooklyn. The 18-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Joe Pierce. It was his 6th walk of the season.
"We scored more than enough runs this time," said Brooklyn manager Brett Beck. "Now watch. The next game we'll probably struggle to get a base hit."
