Warriors Prevail, 4-3, Over Bighorn
|
Walnut Creek Warriors starter Willie Borrero found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the Bighorn Bison. Borrero picked up the win for Walnut Creek, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-0. The Thurman Munson League West Division-leading Warriors are 57-35.
Bobby Tackman had a big 2-run double for the Warriors in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Walnut Creek leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from three-time All-Star Jeff Lee and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 27th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Warriors ahead, 4-1.
After the game, Walnut Creek manager Armando Medina applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
