Commies Absorb 13-2 Drubbing
The Normal Nutcrackers had no problem beating the Caribbean Commies, 13-2, at The Nutcracker Suite. Ramon Garcia led the way. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 5 for Normal. The win was credited to Tony Bigio in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Pablo Flores took the loss. With the win, Normal goes to 29-43, while the Commies fall to 23-49.

In the bottom of the second, Normal right fielder Danny Sanchez had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Sanchez stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 4-2, Normal. For the game, he went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Garcia told the Normal Bulletin.
