Behind a solid performance from left fielder Aaron Proctor, the Syracuse Orange Sox defeated the Scottsdale Scorpions, 11-7. Proctor slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Orange Sox. The winner in relief was Danny Pichardo. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. At 36-15, the Orange Sox have a slim two-game lead in the RCL R Tony Fernandez Division.

An inflection point occurred with no one out in the top of the fifth. That's when Orange Sox center fielder Charlie Dunlap hit a fastball from Vincent Galindo for a 2-run single. Just like that, Syracuse was up, 5-4.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Proctor told the Syracuse Gazette.
