Manchester Mooses starter Craig Wood hurled his team past the Yuma Varmits, 1-0. With the victory, the Mooses upped their record to 39-36.

Manchester got a clutch hit from Mario Laque. The center fielder launched a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"We had a chance to win," said Yuma manager Vinny Aceves, "but we didn't get it done."
