Myers Excels, But Lighting Win
Despite a great performance by The Stinging catcher Keaton Myers, the Thunder Bay Lighting defeated the Larvae by the score of 11-8 at Lightning Grove. Myers was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. The winner was Thunder Bay reliever Cortez Soto, now 2-0. The loser was Victor Trevino. Juan Valdez sewed up the save, his 18th.

The Lighting got a big hit from third baseman Jose Quinones. In the bottom of the seventh, Quinones smacked a 2-run double off The Stinging pitcher Victor Trevino. It was his 9th double of the season. Suddenly, the Lighting were ahead, 4-3.

"Enjoyed this one," Quinones told the Thunder Bay Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The win gives Thunder Bay a season record of 47-30.
