Sylva Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Burtch
The Rockville Rangers spoiled a good performance by Sylva first baseman Darius Burtch, bumping off Sylva, 12-9, at Pickaxe Field. Burtch slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Jose Delgado picked up his 6th save of the season. The Rangers now own a record of 24-35.

Rockville used the clutch hitting of Manny Rivera to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Rangers the lead, 10-9. For the game, Rivera had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager .
