Thunder Turn Back Cyclones, 7-6
|
Brooklyn got a terrific game from left fielder Chris McKinney. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Key West, 7-6. McKinney went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Alexis Trevino went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The left-hander struck out 1 and walked 7. With the win, he ups his record to 3-3 this season. Bobby Cintron wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Key West used the hitting of Arturo de la Rosa to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Thunder on top, 2-0. For the game, de la Rosa had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
de la Rosa told reporters after the game: "Close wins always feel extra good."
The 4th-place Cyclones dropped to 32-28.
