In a tight game between the Scottsdale Scorpions and the Brooklyn Cyclones, pitcher Manuel Olivas was terrific on the mound. The Scottsdale right-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. Olivas, the winner, moves to 7-1. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 12 and giving up 6 walks. The Scorpions raised their record to 40-21.

Casey Dawson drew 2 walks for Scottsdale. The 18-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jorge Torres. It was his 49th walk of the season.

"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Scorpions manager Sergio Guerrero.
