Thunder Squelch Lighting Offense in Shutout Win
|
Not everyone stuck through the 20-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Right-hander Alex Canales mesmerized the Thunder Bay Lighting while leading the Key West Thunder to a 5-0 victory. Mahjoub Omariba picked up the save, his 8th.
Key West took the lead, 2-0, on Matt Puhr's 12th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Thunder Bay pitcher Joe Pierce in the bottom of the seventh.
Key West manager Kwang-rak Song commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
The victory gives Key West a record of 34-28.
