Cougars Down Lighting, 3-0
|
The Prince George Cougars topped the Thunder Bay Lighting, 3-0, the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Cesar Zauala. On the day, Zauala was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Cougars. Prince George pitcher Ramiro Castellanos got the win, upping his record to 3-0. Alberto Ponce got the loss. Angel Acosta notched his 7th save in 7 chances.
Early in the game, Zauala had a 3-run home run for Prince George. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Cougars on top, 3-0.
Zauala was in a reflective mood after the contest. He told the Prince George Bulletin, "Every game is it's own challenge. That's what keeps the competitive fire alive."
Prince George, at 47-16, is cruising.
