The inspired effort of Carrollton designated hitter Ruben Hernandez was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Paradise Island Pirates. Hernandez was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Pirates saw their win-loss record go to 53-25. At the same time, the Rangers fell to 43-35.

Paradise Island got a clutch hit from Tom de Jong. The designated hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.
