Cardinals Get Past The Stinging for 3-2 Win
|
The Montreal Cardinals stymied the The Stinging Larvae, 3-2, at Denis Coderre Stadium. Noe Gonzalez, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Montreal. The win was credited to Nestor Polanco in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Dan Stamper took the loss. The Cardinals now own a record of 21-16.
Miguel Perez had a go-ahead single for Montreal in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out and a runner on 1st, the 19-year old first baseman hit a run-scoring single off Dan Stamper. His 29th hit of the season made the score 3-2.
