Scorpions Get Better of Miners, 5-2
|
The Scottsdale Scorpions got a strong performance from pitcher Ricky Lopez, who stymied the Sylva offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Scottsdale Stadium. Lopez picked up the win for Scottsdale, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-5. Scottsdale, at 25-37, occupies 6th place in the RCL R Tony Fernandez Division.
Gavin Snyder had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the second for Scottsdale. With the bases loaded and the Scorpions leading 1-0, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Ricky just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Scottsdale manager Sergio Guerrero.
