Starting pitcher Francisco Villanueva took care of business, helping the Brooklyn Cyclones stifle the Savannah Peaches, 4-1. Joe Bauer finished to wrap up his 4th save. By defeating Savannah, the second-place Cyclones improved to 45-35.

Brooklyn took a 4-1 lead on Arturo Paz's 14th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Paz hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Savannah pitcher Andy Jepsen visibly frustrated.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Paz.
