Cougars Use Late Rally to Win 6th Straight
|
The Manchester Mooses got a superb performance from pitcher David Lugo, but the Prince George Cougars still won the game, 7-4. Lugo threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Roberto de Alba notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 5-1. Angel Acosta earned the save for Prince George, his 9th.
Richard Hoskins came through with a big-time hit for Prince George. The second baseman smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"This was a nice win for us," said Hoskins. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The Cougars have now reeled off 6 straight wins.
