Thompson drives in 6 runs in Miners Win
The Sylva Miners cruised to a win over the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, 13-4, at Pickaxe Field. Billy Thompson, who is tied for 4th in the RR with a 1.168 OPS, led the way, going 1-for-4 for Sylva. The winner was Jim Jones, who threw 134 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. Sylva has now won 5 straight.

With Sylva leading 5-4 in the bottom of the fourth, Thompson hit a fastball from Willis Guerrero for a grand slam home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Miners ahead, 9-4.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Sylva manager Armando Medina.
