The Stinging starter Danny Ortega put a stranglehold on the Brooklyn offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Larvae to a 3-1 win. Ortega picked up the win for The Stinging, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-11. Yes, it was a win for The Stinging; but their 25-58 mark is nothing to crow about.
The Larvae got a big at-bat from center fielder Carlos Moreno. For the game, Moreno went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave The Stinging a 2-0 lead.
"Danny gains confidence in the confidence we have in him," said The Stinging manager Jose Correa.
