Valencia, Thunder Fall to Scorpions
Key West catcher Oscar Valencia pounded Scottsdale Scorpions pitchers at Gatorade Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Thunder from falling, 11-9. Valencia went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Edwin Alvarado collected save number 1. The 6th-place Scorpions now sit at 27-41.

Ian Lamb came through with a big-time hit for Scottsdale. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 8-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Lamb, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
