Revenge Take Home 4-3 Win Over Brooklyn
|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Javier Menchaca, the Barbados Revenge defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones, 4-3. Menchaca was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles for the Revenge. Bill Holwell earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The loss makes Brooklyn 39-33.
Miguel Reina had a big 3-run home run for the Revenge in the bottom of the third inning. With Barbados leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Richards and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Revenge on top, 4-0.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Reina told the Barbados Daily News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
