Valles has 5 RBI as Cardinals Squeeze Past Frobisher Bay
The Montreal Cardinals turned back the Frobisher Bay Caribou, 8-7, at Denis Coderre Stadium. Heriberto Valles, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the save was Cory Rumley. He's now 7 for 11 in save chances. The first-place Cardinals now have a record of 57-29.

With Montreal trailing 7-4 in the bottom of the eighth, Valles hit a fastball from John Welburn for a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 8-7.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Valles told the Montreal Daily News.
