7-4 Rangers Win over Scorpions Evens Season Record
|
Rockville and Scottsdale duked it out at Scottsdale Stadium and the Rangers came out victorious.
The Rockville Rangers picked up a win at Scottsdale Stadium, knocking off the Scottsdale Scorpions, 7-4. On the mound for Rockville was left-hander Miguel Salgado, who played a pivotal role in the win. Zack Meighan earned the save for Rockville, his 2nd of the year.
Rockville used the timely hitting of Juan Miranda to capture the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rangers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I had a good game plan," said Salgado. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Jeffrey Coffman said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
Scottsdale, at 21-25, has lost 4 straight.
