Cyclones Sink Rangers, 11-3
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones had no problem beating the Carrollton Rangers, 11-3, at Rangers Field. Jose Herrera led the way. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Brooklyn. Matthew Witt picked up the save for Brooklyn, his 1st of the year. Now 56-39, the Cyclones have won 10 in a row.
Brooklyn second baseman Shane Rabuse contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 83rd hit of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 5-2.
"The positive vibes are all around the clubhouse," said Cyclones manager Jerry Cruz. "Once you see a player having a good at-bat, that's really contagious."
