Peaches Suffer 8-6 Home Loss
|
Though he had a stellar game, Victor Castellanos could not prevent his team, the Savannah Peaches, from losing, 8-6, to the Yuma Varmits. Castellanos was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Juan Silva earned the win for Yuma. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 6-4. The Varmits go to 47-50, putting them 4th in the TML R Otto Velez Division.
Yuma used a clutch at-bat from Izzy Acuna to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Varmits ahead, 8-4. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I have a job to do," Acuna said, "and I did it."
