Nutcrackers Fight for 5-4 Win
The Normal Nutcrackers faced a tough opponent in Savannah pitcher Sal Santiago, but found a way to pull out the victory at Martin Field by a final score of 5-4 in 11 innings. Santiago went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The last-place Nutcrackers lifted their record to 39-61.

It could have been a different outcome for Normal, had it not been for Raul BerAstegui, the 17-year old third baseman . BerAstegui contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the 11th inning to put Normal up, 5-4.

Normal manager Juan Colo attributed the win to "a little bit of this and a little bit of that."
