Big Day for Botte as Varmits Down Islanders, 8-6

The Yuma Varmits beat the Coronado Islanders, 8-6, at The Range. Yuma left fielder Onorato Botte had an outstanding performance. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. The Varmits now have a record of 50-52.
In the bottom of the eighth, Botte put his team in front with his 8th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Manny Soto, made it 8-5, Yuma.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Botte told the Yuma Citizen.
