The Savannah Peaches got a stellar performance from pitcher Paul Lemieux, who handcuffed the Normal offense en route to a win, 6-0, at The Nutcracker Suite. Now 2-14, the 2062 Nutcrackers have sputtered in the early going.

Lemieux was in the zone all game. He frustrated Normal hitters while giving the Peaches 6.2 innings of quality work. Lemieux threw 97 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 12 punchouts.

"We need to step it up, period," said an agitated Normal manager Arnold Layne.
