Thrilling Victory Pushes Lighting Win Streak to 8
|
Leo Garcia left his imprint on the 7-5 Thunder Bay win against the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas. Garcia was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Thunder Bay reliever Tony Senquiz picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. David Vilca was tagged with the loss. Picking up his 1st save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Israel Vigil.
Garcia had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from David Vilca, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Lighting a 6-5 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Garcia.
"Leo raked," said Thunder Bay manager Masamune Fujimoto.
The winning continues for Thunder Bay, with the latest triumph making it 8 straight.
