Millers Sink Earthquakes, 3-1
|
The Milwaukee Millers, behind a great outing from Ron Schott defeated the San Francisco Earthquakes, 3-1, at The Mandalore Complex. The winning pitcher was Schott, now 4-6. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Jason Phillips got the save, the 18th for him this season.
Raul Gomez drove in one run for Milwaukee. The 25-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Chris Crawford. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"Ron is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Milwaukee manager Daniel Breuer.
San Francisco's current losing streak is now 4 games.
