Islanders Get 5th Straight Win with Late Rally
The Coronado Islanders defeated the The Stinging Larvae, 11-7. Second Baseman Mike Robinson deserved a large share of the credit. Robinson went 2-4 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Islanders. Tetsuhiro Nitta claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 3-1. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Coronado.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Luis Fajardo came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing The Stinging pitcher Bill Rangel, he hit a 1-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Coronado on top, 8-7.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Fajardo told the Coronado Gazette.
