Lighting Rally to Eke Out Win
The Thunder Bay Lighting did just enough to nip the Carrollton Rangers, 6-5, in 10 innings. Thunder Bay designated hitter Alex Martinez, in particular, had a standout performance. The first-place Lighting now have a record of 74-34.

Martinez had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a full count curveball from Chris Trevino, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Lighting a 6-5 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Martinez.

"We earned that one," said Martinez.
