Garcia Leads Lighting to Win
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Leo Garcia, the Thunder Bay Lighting defeated the Easton Caterpillars, 16-5. Garcia went 2 for 3 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Lighting. The Lighting, now 66-43, have won 12 in a row.

Thunder Bay right fielder David Bieganski contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 57th hit of the season and put the Lighting ahead, 3-0.

"No matter what our lineup is, the person in the box with an opportunity, it seems like that guy usually comes through for us," said Lighting manager Masamune Fujimoto.
