Pirates Get Close Win Over Nutcrackers, 3-2
The Paradise Island Pirates earned a win at Predator Park, stopping the Normal Nutcrackers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Juan Munoz played a big role in his team's success. Robby Barbosa came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-2. The first-place Pirates have won 7 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Pablo Lara in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 18-year old right-handed pitcher Emil Weiss to win the game for Paradise Island. The home crowd went nuts.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Munoz. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
