The Paradise Island Pirates picked up a win at Predator Park, dropping the Normal Nutcrackers, 2-1. Dan Giffen, who is tied for 2nd in the TR in complete games with 3, was the difference-maker. The win went to Sandoval Mazzioti in relief, making him now 5-2. Rodolfo Brambila took the loss for Normal. Paradise Island is now 80-32, while Normal is 44-69.

Had Corey Craig not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Craig hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Pirates.

"Dan did a good job keeping the game under control," said Paradise Island manager Jorge Ávila.
