El Paso 6-3 Losers to Hornets

The Eureka Hornets topped the El Paso Mavericks, 6-3, in Roberto Clemente League action at The Nest. The game was highlighted by the performance of Eureka pitcher David Espinoza. The save went to Matt Acrey, his 18th this season. The win gives Eureka a season record of 51-45.
Robby Helt had a big 2-run double for the Hornets in the bottom of the third inning. With Eureka leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Franklin Lucero and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hornets ahead, 4-0.
"David is a tough competitor," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.
