The Coronado Islanders defeated the Paradise Island Pirates, 10-7. Left Fielder Izzy Moreno deserved a large share of the credit. Moreno slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 8 for the Islanders. The win elevated the Islanders to 62-52.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Coronado trailing 7-6, Moreno jumped on a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Antonio Espinoza and hit a grand slam home run to left-center. With one swing, the Islanders had a walk-off win.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Moreno told reporters after the game.
