Rosewell Dismisses Victoria, 8-5
|
The Rosewell Tribbles topped the Victoria Totems by a score of 8-5. Leading the way was third baseman Kevin Hunter. Hunter was 2-3 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Tribbles. Willie Gomez was the winner. He's now 11-2. The loser was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Grant McCabe. The Tribbles, at 94-23, have a comfortable 22½-game lead in their division.
The Tribbles benefited from a costly error in the top of the first. With Travis Saul at bat and Rosewell leading 2-0, the Victoria miscue allowed Rosewell to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-0.
"It felt good to put the barrel on the ball," said Saul.
