The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Oconto Falls fans at The Cove.

Oconto Falls Timbers pitcher Randy Parsons was in fine form, leading his team past the The Stinging Larvae, 7-1. The Larvae, now 39-80, have lost 10 in a row.

Dave Vargas had a big 3-run home run for the Timbers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Oconto Falls leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Danny Ortega and swatted a home run to right. It was his 32nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Timbers ahead, 6-1.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Timbers manager , "I like our chances."
