Revenge Losers, 11-6, Versus Caribbean
|
Caribbean took on Barbados in front of a lively crowd.
Though he had a terrific game, John Simms could not prevent his team, the Barbados Revenge, from absorbing a loss. Caribbean won the game, 11-6. Simms was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Danny Gomez. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 3. Matt Stover earned the save, his 2nd, for the Commies.
Caribbean used the hitting of Gao Ke to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Commies on top, 2-0. For the game, Ke had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I felt good up there," said Ke. "I saw the ball well."
The win is nice, but Caribbean still has an embarrassing 15-104 record.
