Texans Claim Late Win
Getting offensive support from Brian Ernst, the Dallas Texans topped the El Paso Mavericks, 6-4. Ernst belted 2 home runs for the Texans. Dallas reliever Jeff Dempsey was the winner. His record is now 3-4. The losing pitcher was Jeff Dalton. Ruben Rosado picked up the save, his 21st.

Dallas took a 6-4 lead on Allen Webster's 16th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Webster hit in the bottom of the eighth, left El Paso pitcher Jeff Dalton visibly frustrated.

Dallas manager Lester Burrow was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.

At 44-40, the Texans find themselves in 4th place in the Roberto Clemente League Mike Brouillette Division.
