The Yuma Varmits outlasted Jason Chard and the Sedona Sabercats, 9-7. Chard was impressive in the loss. The Sedona third baseman hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Dan Devaney went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The right-hander, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2063 draft, struck out 12 and walked 3. With the win, he's now 2-1 this season. Allen Cain notched his 11th save of the season.

Juan Maldonado aided the Yuma cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the first. For the game, the shortstop drew 2 walks.

"I liked the focus, I liked the effort," said Varmits manager Phoenix Smith.
