The Rosewell Tribbles cut down the Yuma Varmits by the score of 4-0, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Melvin Diaz. Diaz went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk for the Tribbles. Jim Conner earned the save, his 2nd in 2 tries. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Rosewell.
With Rosewell leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Diaz hit a run-scoring single off Yuma hurler Victor de Leon. It was the 18th hit of the season for Diaz and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Tribbles manager Leonel Alba, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
