Getting offensive support from Brian Hurt, the Caribbean Commies topped the Manchester Mooses, 7-4. Hurt went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Commies. The Commies saw their win-loss record go to 47-74. At the same time, the Mooses fell to 64-58.

Hurt had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Roger Reyes, he banged a grand slam home run to center, giving the Commies a 7-4 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Hurt.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hurt told the Caribbean News. "It's as simple as that."
