Varmits Walk Off with 7-6 Win
The Montreal Cardinals got a superb performance from third baseman Francisco Beltran, but the Yuma Varmits still won the game, 7-6. Beltran hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Yuma reliever Diego Alanis picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Gabe Ayala was saddled with the loss. The Varmits sit in 4th place in the TML R Otto Velez Division with a record of 63-60.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Yuma. That's when Roberto Matas hit a 2-run home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Gabe Ayala to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Matas said in his postgame press conference.
