Israel Vigil brought his A-game to help Thunder Bay defeat the Brooklyn Cyclones, 4-1. The second-place Cyclones dropped to 76-47.

Thunder Bay used the hitting of Juan Encarnacion to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Lighting on top, 2-0. For the game, Encarnacion had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Encarnacion. "The only team that can beat us is us."
