Alex Rocha was a major contributor to the 7-6 Paradise Island win over Yuma. The Pirates pinch hitter went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Paradise Island reliever Yuko Hamamoto got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Scott Roberts was tagged with the loss. By defeating Yuma, the 4th-place Pirates improved to 26-26.

Rocha had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 sinker from Scott Roberts, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Pirates a 7-6 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Rocha.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Rocha, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
